Dennis Buchanan brings thirty-two years of leadership experience as President and Owner of Buchanan Enterprises Inc.

In 1965, Dennis began working in the field with his father, who had started the family construction business in 1949. At that time, Al Buchanan & Son concentrated primarily in single-family and custom homes. Al Buchanan & Son incorporated in 1967 and liquidated in 1983 when Dennis formed Buchanan Enterprises Inc. At that time, Dennis brought his strengths in commercial construction and development as the main core of the corporation increasing the company tenfold. Buchanan Enterprises Inc. is now widely known as a shopping center developer, property management and commercial construction leader doing all types of single tenant construction jobs, from fast food to all types of retail.

Over these preceding years, Mr. Buchanan has developed well over 1,000 single-family and custom homes, several apartment complexes, office and commercial projects and several large remodel ventures. Mr. Buchanan oversees the day-to-day operations of the corporation, manages the finances, continually develops liaisons with City and State staff, negotiates contracts and still finds time to frequent the on-going jobs to get a hands-on feel of the progress on all projects. His wealth of knowledge and experience has made him a front-runner in the development/construction industry in the Central Valley and throughout Northern California.

Dennis currently resides in Turlock with his wife, Sherry, and daughters, Mandy and Annie. His daughters, Julie and Rochelle, are married and raising families in Turlock also.

"In my job, I get the opportunity to work with several developers.  One thing about Dennis Buchanan, his vision is not limited to his project- he looks at what is good for the community as well.  I like to hold this relationship up as proof that relationships between cities and developers don't have to be adversarial, they can be cooperative."
